The signal, which is applied directly to the pickup of the record player, has a fine resolution and is also very sensitive. It has to be carefully processed to preserve the quality of the signal. To ensure this, the PPA-2 uses an all-discrete, ultra-low-noise FET circuit for amplification and equalization. In order to meet the highest demands, the PPA-2 has a large number of setting options in addition to the two independent inputs. These include the continuously adjustable input impedance (independent for both inputs), the MC/MM switchover and the balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs
