Single-ended Class A headphone/speaker amplifier

The 170HA is the first  design to optimize a matched pair of Tung-Sol KT170 power tubes for a Single-ended Class A headphone amplifier, delivering an authoritative output o up to 18W/Ch for both headphone and speaker outputs, ushering headphones into a new realm of personal listening experience. The 170HA embodies 31 years of Cayin’s experience in tube circuit design.

Physically separated two boxes design with dual power supply transformers deliver high and low voltage separately, minimize electrical interference, and safeguard clean power to the amplifier. Multi-stage tube regulated power supply circuit feeds power to different amplification stages independently.

Soul 170HA employs two 6SN7 tubes for voltage amplification and two GZ34S rectifier tubes that provide clean power with minimum interference.

Output transformers provide three sets of impedance matched output to handle different headphone loads (Low/Mid/High), and 2-setting adjustment of the operating current (Dynamic/Soft).

The volume control circuit comprises a custom ALPS carbon film potentiometer and a JRC MUSES72320V chip controller.
